A project of a medium-size destroyer, officially named "fleet destroyer" (type 1940). The ships of this series were built in the Netherlands based on the Dutch designs and components. From other German members of the type the project differed favorably by the overall balance of the characteristics.

British Admiralty V-class destroyer leader, launched as HMS Wallace) but renamed to Vampire in same year she was commissioned. She was loaned to Royal Australian Navy in 1933. In April 1942, she was sunk by Japanese aircraft.

ex-Brush, an Allen M Sumner-class destroyer, she was sold to Taiwan Navy in December 1969.
ex-Erben, a Fletcher-class destroyer. She was transferred to South Korea in May 1963.
ex-Macomb, a US Gleaves-class destroyer. In October 1954, Macomb was transferred to the JMSDF and was renamed to Hatakaze. Later in 1970 she was again transferred to Taiwan Navy.
The flotilla leader project was developed in Great Britain and offered to the Republic of China government in 1929 (T.306 project), but it has never been implemented. The ship's armament consisted of five main caliber guns and two three-tube torpedo tubes.
ex-Radiant, a Thronycroft R-class destroyer. She was transferred to the Royal Thai Navy in 1920. She was well armed and maintained very high speed. For almost the entire service life she was the most powerful torpedo ship of the Thai Navy.
