Wilhelmshaven (William's Port) is one of German's key naval bases in both WWI and WWII. In 1869, Wilhelm I, King of Prussia established the Prussian naval force in this port, a military shipyard was then completed in 1871. The navy housed in this port had served the Kingdom of Prussia, the Weimar Republic and the Deutsche Reich.
